SELLER’S GUIDE
Welcome to our seller’s guide. Looking to sell some scrap precious metals? We provide flexible options to make selling easy, whether you prefer to sell to us by post or in store. Consult our guide below to get started and if you have any questions, look at our FAQ page for quick answers.
POST
Too far to visit us in person? No problem! We offer FREE pre-paid envelopes that allow you to send your scrap precious metals safely and securely. All postages are fully insured up to £2500 for your peace of mind. Click here to open the steps on how to get started.
1. Request Your Pre-Paid Envelope
Click the Contact Us button and fill out the form with your full name, email address, and postal address and request a pre-paid envelope(s).
Once we receive your request, we’ll send you a pre-paid, fully insured envelope within a few days. Each envelope is insured for up to £2,500, so if the value of your scrap exceeds this amount, you can request additional envelopes to ensure complete coverage.
Tip: Use our Scrap Calculator for an instant estimate of your items’ value.
2. Package Your Items Securely
Place your scrap metals in the provided envelope. For added security, use an additional container or protective wrap.
Items too big? We recommend placing the items in a box and attach the envelope to the outside securely.
3. Include Your Details
To ensure a smooth process, please include a note with your package containing the following information:
- Full Name
- Phone Number
- Address
- Preferred Payment Method
- Cash
- Bank Transfer (Include your account number and sort code)
- Cheque
- Additional Notes
Additional notes are for further details, such as what you are sending us by specifying their respective weights and carats. This ensures we have received all of your package, and if there are major differences in carats, we can call and sort out any disputes.
Please also fill out the “Sender’s name and address” box in the lower corner of the envelope.
5. Send Your Package
Drop the pre-paid envelope at your nearest post office. You don’t need to worry about additional postage or insurance—it’s all taken care of!
6. Receive Your Payment
Once we receive and assess your items, we’ll process your payment via your preferred method, ensuring quick and hassle-free service.
Additional Fees:
If we need to send you cash payments or return non-precious metals, a £10 postage fee will be applied to each envelope we send. Each envelope is insured up to £2,500, so if the cash value exceeds this limit, we may need to send multiple envelopes to ensure full insurance coverage.

Accepting Our Offer
If you’re happy with our offer, you can choose your preferred payment method:
- Bank Transfer
- Cheque
- Cash (subject to limits)
Note: Large cash transactions are limited due to security and banking regulations. Bank transfers or cheques are encouraged.
Preparing Your Scrap Metals Before Visiting
To speed up the process, we recommend:
- Sorting metals by carat.
- Removing stones or non-precious materials beforehand. (We don’t pay for these and can’t guarantee their condition if removed in-store.)
- Remove packaging (e.g. coin cases)
If your items contain excessive non-precious materials, we may offer to melt them into a bar for accurate valuation. This process typically takes a couple of hours.
Need Help?
If you’re unsure about preparing your items, our friendly staff can guide you during your visit. You can also contact us beforehand for advice. Visit our Contact Us page for assistance.
Frequently Asked Questions:
When do your prices change?
We update the scrap prices on our website every weekday at 9 AM. However, if there are significant fluctuations in the market during the day, the prices are subject to change accordingly to reflect these updates.
How much is my scrap worth?
If you know the carat or percentage content of your metal, use our Scrap Calculator to get an instant estimate of its value. Or come in store and we can give you a quote.
Do you pay cash?
Yes, we do pay cash for any precious metals. However, due to bank guidelines, we aim to minimise large cash transactions when possible. For this reason, we encourage payments by bank transfer or cheque as preferred options. Please note that there is also a limit to the amount of cash we can provide to an individual.
Are there any service fees?
There are no additional service fees, the only fees we have are for assay, melt or postage.
Where do I park?
We offer free on-site parking for our customers, making it convenient for you to visit our store. Look to our Contact Us page for better details on where we are.

Do you accept sweep / lemel?
Yes, we accept sweep and lemels. You can send them to us via post or bring them in person. We’ll melt them into a bar, allowing us to provide you with an accurate valuation.
Do you accept watches?
Yes, we do. However, we only purchase the precious metals from the watch. This means that all non-precious metal components, such as the inner workings and other materials, must be removed during the process. Please note that we cannot guarantee the condition of the watch after this removal process.
Do you accept rolled gold?
We do accept rolled gold, back-and-front lockets and metal core items.
We will always melt and assay and because of this there is a minimum combined weight of approximately 100 grams. We DO NOT accept flash gold plated jewellery items.
Acceptance of your items is at the discretion of our staff.
