Fake Suisse Fine Gold Bar
This counterfeit bar was presented as a fully packaged and sealed Suisse pure gold bar. However, when tested with a XRF scanner, it was revealed to be copper.
Another warning sign is the weight. While genuine Suisse gold bars should weigh the portrayed weight on the bar, in this case exactly 1 ounce (31.1035g), this fake was slightly underweight, though this can be difficult to confirm without opening the packaging.
If you suspect a gold bar may be counterfeit, checking its weight and using proper testing equipment are essential steps. Keep in mind that packaging alone is not a guarantee of authenticity – even sealed bars can be fake.
